Lowcountry Proud: Georgetown

With duel citizenship to both the United States and Israel, Nicole Suissa is not your typical nineteen year old.

After spending three years in the New York homeless system, she got into a Hartford University in Connecticut. Her first year she averaged a 3.7 GPA; however, due the failing economy, she soon would not be able to pay for her schooling.

Nicole submitted a letter to a Hispanic Scholarship fund detailing her troubles. She never got the scholarship but in turn heard back from a CNN producer wanting to do a story on her situation.

Edward Bell, an attorney in Georgetown, saw the story on CNN while in New York on trial. Bell has decided to make a scholarship in Nicoles name, paying for the rest of her schooling.
