J. Edward Bell has been appointed Lead Counsel of the Plaintiffs’ Leadership Group (PLG) for a third time, demonstrating his commitment to Camp Lejeune families. With nearly 3,400 individual Camp Lejeune Justice Act lawsuits pending in the Eastern District of North Carolina and more than 400,000 administrative claims on file with the Department of the Navy, it’s crucial to have someone overseeing the Camp Lejeune litigation who understands—and Ed Bell does.
Ed has spent decades sharing Camp Lejeune survivors’ stories to help them get the assistance and recognition they deserve. His advocacy for the Camp Lejeune Justice Act and his recognition in the Trial Lawyer Hall of Fame uniquely positions him to serve as Lead Counsel for the Camp Lejeune lawsuit.
The original PLG appointment began in July, 2023, and was renewed in 2024. On July 18th, the Courts issued the Order Regarding Reappointment of Plaintiffs’ Leadership Group, which will stand for six months.
